Pristine Acoustic Amplification from LR Baggs

LR Baggs creates some of the most widely renowned acoustic pickup systems on the market and has raised the bar again with this Element VTC system. The Element VTC system pairs the dynamic fullness of an under-saddle Element piezo pickup with the innovative VTC preamp for rich acoustic tone. Unlike traditional acoustic pickups, the Element pickup delivers a more authentic acoustic tone by mirroring the soundboard’s actual movements and vibrations. Meanwhile, the VTC pre-amp fills that sound with tape-like saturation, warmth, and a dynamic low-frequency EQ that compresses problematic frequencies as you play, an especially useful tool for stage musicians who want to avoid fiddling with knobs in between songs.

Quick install!

The Element VTC system is discrete, pre-wired, and ready for quick installation. The pre-amp features an endpin design for quick cable connection, while tone and volume controls mount to the soundhole for convenient access. The system runs off one 9-volt battery, and a battery bag is included in the box for easy mounting. Beyond impeccable tone and performance, Sweetwater players have also found the LR Baggs Element VTC system to be quite efficient on power. A single battery can deliver up to 1,000 hours of play time, which means less money to shell out on accessories and more play time without hassle or strain.

LR Baggs Element VTC Acoustic Guitar Under-saddle Pickup System Features:

  • Kit includes an Element under-saddle piezo pickup and a VTC preamp system
  • Delivers naturally rich, authentic acoustic guitar amplification
  • Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls let you tweak sound to perfection
  • Powerful, responsive built-in tone management includes a dynamic low-end compressor that prevents boominess and feedback while preserving signal integrity
  • System naturally blends in subtle harmonics for warm tape-like saturation that sounds like a studio-grade mic
  • Kit is pre-wired for quick convenient installation and includes a battery bag
  • Fits both 3/32-inch and 1/8-inch saddle slots
  • End-pin preamp for quick cable connection
  • Powered by a 9V battery: 1 battery delivers roughly 1,000 hours of use

LR Baggs Element VC pickup

I had this installed in my Taylor 810 ltd by a seasoned luthier. I played out with it for the first time last Thursday. The sound was awesome. I'm very pleased with the pickup. I'll probably order another for my Martin DM.

Clean and clear with a useful tone control

See subject. The tone control is flat in the center. Rolling it down applies a low pass, and rolling it up applies a high pass. It has a good sensor strip, and if you sand your saddle and drill your holes correctly it will work very well.

Like all piezo pickups, it benefits from compression, EQ, and delay.

Installation is easy if you have even basic woodworking skills

New Acoustic pick up.

After 20 of playing and changing strings regularly on my old Guild D120 the coating on the underbar pickup began to wear causing dull spots in the sound. I talked to a trusted friend at a local music store who suggested an LR Baggs Element VTC. He had one in stocks. While he was assisted another customer I found I could get it within the week from Sweetwater for $30 cheaper, plus a cool tote of munchies to share with my Mrs. What I didn't expect was the phone call 10 days later from my buddy Matt at Sweetwater to make sure I was totally satisfied. Ole'Guildy has never sounded better. Thanks Sweetwater!

Simple but great response

So if you have used the Baggs Anthem you know how good it is but how difficult addressing all the fine tuning can be. So the Baggs Element is the smaller brother of the Anthem. Less difficult to fine tune and gives a very good tone. It is not as sophisticated as the Anthem but it is much much easier to dial in. If your a big time player at big venues you really need the Anthem but if you play for small venues or for your enjoyment I can highly recommend the Element as an excellent system.
Music background: Long time performer.
